100 year old photos of two of our local Wilston Village shops

When I moved to Wilston in early 1982 this was a fruit shop the (B) part in the top shot was a lean to over a driveway. You can still see that in the curbing. Divine Miss B jazzed the place up as a Florist and now Elanor runs her lovely extended homewares shop here.


Directly opposite was a large Cut Price Store but much earlier the building was open air theatre. By open air I mean walls and no roof.

And going from these images the theatre boasted painted murals on the exterior.

I scanned these images for Peter Pegg many years ago for a book he was doing for the Windsor Historical Society.
